FAQ — Abigail Goldblade

Question 1

Are you actually funny or do you just think you are?

Accepted Answer

My family gives me polite smiles and subject changes. The truth is somewhere in the middle — and that middle is exactly where comedy lives. I am still in the writing phase, rigorously testing material on a very critical audience of one, but the live stage is the goal and I am not stopping until I get there.

Question 2

When did you decide to become a comedian?

Accepted Answer

I didn't decide so much as I slowly realized how much I've looked up to comedians and their style of comedy. Being the person who makes people laugh while making myself look ridiculous on stage — it started as admiration, but it turned into confidence. Wondering if I to can dip my toes in the world of comedy, so here I am.

Question 3

Have you done any open mics yet?

Accepted Answer

Not yet — and I will be the first to admit that. Right now my jokes are being stress-tested in the writing phase before I unleash them on an unsuspecting crowd. When I do hit that first open mic, you will absolutely know about it. Stick around. The glory (or the glorious disaster) is coming.

Question 4

What kind of comedy do you do?

Accepted Answer

Observational, self-deprecating, and occasionally chaotic. I find the humor in the uncomfortable — the awkward silences, the gut healing protocols that go sideways, the moments where life hands you something absurd and you have two choices: cry or laugh. I choose laugh. Usually. Sometimes I do both simultaneously. It's a learning experience. 😉

Question 5

Can I book you for a show or event?

Accepted Answer

No, not yet. Hope to have that someday!

Question 6

Why do you combine comedy with health? That seems… random.

Accepted Answer

It seems random until you realize both require the exact same thing: showing up consistently, being brutally honest about where you are, and trusting the process even when it feels completely ridiculous. Comedy and health are basically the same discipline wearing different outfits. I wrote a whole journal post about this, actually. (Shameless plug)

Question 7

What happened to your health and why do you talk about it so much?

Accepted Answer

After having my gallbladder removed, I was told everything would improve. It did not. Pain, inflammation, high cortisol, stomach discomfort, and a revolving door of hospital visits that led nowhere. The same hospital that removed my gallbladder had no answers. I eventually hit a wall, fell to my knees, and cried out to God asking why I was still suffering. That moment changed everything. I stopped waiting for someone to fix me and started researching root causes myself.

Question 8

Are you a doctor or a nutritionist?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely not — and I will never pretend to be. I am a person who went through something hard, did a lot of research, found things that helped, and wants to share that honestly. Everything I recommend is something I personally use or have used. Please always consult your own healthcare provider before changing anything about your health routine. I am a wanna be comedian with strong supplement opinions, not a medical professional.

Question 9

Why do you have health affiliates on a comedy website?

Accepted Answer

Because this is my website and I contain multitudes. My health journey is not separate from my comedy — it is one of my many source materials. The hospital stays, the unanswered questions, the desperate prayer, the research rabbit holes — all of it shaped who I am and part of what I'll talk about on stage. The brands I partner with are ones I genuinely use or have used. I only put my name behind something I actually believe in.

Question 10

Are you fully healed now?

Accepted Answer

Still in the process — and I am honest about that. I believe the time for full healing is soon, and I believe it deeply. But I am not going to pretend I have arrived somewhere I have not. What I can tell you is that I am better than I was, I know more than I did, and I have not given up. That is the whole story in three sentences.

Question 11

Do your affiliate discount codes actually work?

Accepted Answer

Yes — every code on my Health page is real and active. GOLDBLADE works at 10X Health, BodyHealth, BioEmblem, Drink Wholesome, Rho Nutrition, Dr. Clark Store, and MeScreen™ ($150 off). VINIA applies its discount automatically. Lakewood Organic does not have a code but the affiliate link still supports me. If a code ever stops working, reach out and I will sort it out.

Question 12

What is the one health thing you wish you had known sooner?

Accepted Answer

That symptoms are not the problem — they are the signal. I spent so long trying to silence the symptoms instead of asking what they were pointing to. Once I started asking "what is the root cause" instead of "how do I make this stop," everything changed. Also: your gallbladder matters more than anyone tells you before they remove it.

Question 13

What is the AbigailGoldblade brand, really?

Accepted Answer

Classy, Sassy, and a bit Smart-Assy. It is the intersection of finding humor in the uncomfortable and refusing to give up on your health. It is pink and purple and loud and honest. It is a wanna be comedian who went through something hard and decided to make it funny and useful instead of just painful. That is the whole brand in a paragraph.

Question 14

Why "Goldblade"? What does that mean?

Accepted Answer

Goldblade is my comedy persona — the version of me that walks onstage and owns the room. It started with my account name on Wizard101. Gold is for my experience in the jewelry business. Blade is for the precision it takes to craft something sharp and well-made. Put together, it sounds like a superhero name — but that’s just the disguise. The real origin is a video game.

Question 15

How can I follow your journey?

Accepted Answer

The Journal is the best place to read the long-form version of everything. TikTok and Instagram (@abbygoldblade) are where the short-form "comedy" lives. YouTube is where I will eventually post full sets. And if you want the really personal stuff — the hospital chapters, the prayers, the turning points — read My Hospital Story. That one is the whole thing.
